Yin Yoga

Leslie Rhinehart
Leslie Rhinehart
The practice of Yin allows the connective tissue, muscles, and joints to lengthen and open through poses held for 2-5 minutes. Yin allows the mind, breath and body to connect during the quiet reflective period of the pose. Props and modifications are always incorporated into each class . Yin is a wonderful balance to other styles of yoga practice.

This creative vinyasa practice explores grounding through movement rather than stillness. Using unique transitions and intentional repetition, we disrupt autopilot and invite steady breath through complexity. Groundedness here isn’t static, it’s cultivated by staying present within expansion and contraction, effort and ease.

Alignment Yoga

Kim Drye
Kim Drye
Alignment Yoga is alive with questions, philosophy, humor, and focused practice. The physical practice of this class is designed around the alignment principles of a specific pose or groups of poses that are meant to educate the body and mind in a meaningful way. The class is interspersed with demos and a breakdown of technique. The philosophical aspects of this class are influenced by "Be Here Now" by Ram Dass, teachings by Thich Nhat Hanh, and other writers and teachers that teach the practice of dropping into the here and now to experience the bloom of the present moment. The emphasis on alignment in the physical practice is taught as a catalyst to the experience of embodiment and presence. No prior yoga experience is required for attendance.

Flow + Yin blends the yang elements of an engaging practice with the soothing benefits of yin yoga. In this class, we will move through cleansing, creative flows to engage and celebrate the body before easing into passive postures to reset the mind. Flow + Yin offers a balance of strong, yang postures and movements paired with the receptive and introspective elements of yin yoga. Active, strengthening, standing flows are offered in the first half of class to enliven the body. The yin half of class offers passive, seated and supine poses that are held for a period of time. Join us to co-create a space to move through the fluctuations of the mind and body, and prepare for a nourishing reset.

Mindful Yin + Restorative

Rachel Pearlstein
Rachel Pearlstein
This class offers the benefits of two types of yoga, yin and restorative. Yin Yoga focuses on the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body, releasing tension in the muscles, improving flexibility, and increasing circulation in the joints through active stretching. Restorative yoga is a restful practice that uses the support of props to effortlessly hold postures for a longer duration. The nature of restorative yoga allows for deep relaxation that emphasizes the meditative aspect of yoga. Suitable for all levels of practitioners, Yin + Restorative yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga.

Yoga Nidra

Erin Gahan Clark
Erin Gahan Clark
Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, is an intention and sleep based highly restorative guided meditation technique. This practice is designed to bring the brain through the wavelengths of sleep while the practitioner is awake. Using relaxation, breathing techniques, visualization, and Sankalpa (literally “determination”), you will be guided to rest into the layers of your being, helping to cultivate a sense of presence and relaxed awareness. Yoga Nidra is a calming practice of non-doing that reconnects you to the Source within. This practice can be helpful for anyone who is wanting to create a sense of ease and joy in daily life, and is especially beneficial for those in need of quality sleep. This technique calms the nervous system and can help create a sense of peace and perspective in our challenging times. It can be especially supportive for people experiencing depression, anxiety, or PTSD. Yoga Nidra is practiced in stillness. No experience needed. All are welcome. Come as you are.
